PAY AS YOU GO GYMS HIT THE STREETS OF CHINA
Chinese fitness company Misspao has created the “pod gym” — a mini gym big enough for one person to workout at a time. Each gym comes with a treadmill, various portable gym equipment, a screen for entertainment and air purifier. The pods are connected to an app where users work on a pay-as-you-go system with a QR code that allows access to the gym. Misspao has plans to install over 1,000 of these pods on streets around China and possibly expand globally later on.
AMAZON BRINGS 78-SEAT POP-UP BARS TO TOKYO
The latest Amazon brick and mortar experiment has literally popped-up in Japan in the form of a pop-up bar. For 10 days in October, guests will be invited to the 78-seat bar, located in the Ginza shopping district of Tokyo, to sample alcoholic beverages sold on Amazon’s website, including, beer, wine, sake and cocktails. Instead of a menu, an automated recommendation system will suggest drinks to patrons and food will also be sold.

Over the last couple of years, KFC has had a lot of fun breathing new life into their Colonel character with a distinguished list of actors and comedians taking turns playing the role. In his next evolution, the Colonel will become a playable character in the popular WWE 2K18 video game, where we will see a much more buff Colonel don wrestling gear and vie for the championship belt.
