FORD CREATES PROTOTYPE CRIB TO HELP PUT BABIES TO SLEEP
Any parent with a newborn or toddler can relate to the tried-and-true driving-around method to help their youngster fall asleep. In Spain, Ford has created a prototype crib that produces the feel of being driven around. A companion app can map a certain driving route, and when linked, the crib will respond by replicating the sounds and vibrations made during the drive.

Dengue fever, malaria and other mosquito-borne diseases are a serious problem in many areas of the world. Mobile phone manufacturer LG has stepped in with a smartphone concept that can repel mosquitos. The LG K7i features technology that emits ultrasonic sound waves which mimic the frequency range of bats and other mosquito-eating predators to ward off the pesky insects.
SEPHORA LAUNCHES SMALLEST, DIGITALLY ADVANCED BOUTIQUE
The first Sephora Studio has opened in Boston. The smaller-than-normal Sephora store is loaded with technology and services that are designed to "make learning and playing with beauty even more accessible" and to encourage online ordering. The store features touch screens to help customize product purchases and in-depth consultations that are just short of a spa experience. Plans call for opening more of these immersive experience stores in 2018.
