A DIGITAL FACELIFT FOR TRADITIONAL LICENSE PLATES
The city of Sacramento is experimenting with the future of vehicle license plates and has installed several dozen Rplate Pro plates on city-owned cars. These plates transform the time-tested aluminum ones into a digital interactive display. In addition to showing actual plate numbers on cars in drive mode, when parked, they can be programmed to display personal messages, safety alerts, stolen vehicle information and possibly location-based advertising. They also automatically take care of the annual vehicle registration process.

GROUND DELIVERY ROBOTS ARE THE NEW DELIVERY DRONE
Eliport, a Spanish company, has taken the idea of drone delivery one step further—from being fully automated with robotic warehouse pickup to delivery in secure containers on recipients’ property. The autonomous four-wheeled robots will be able to load themselves with up to 88 lb. of cargo and then travel sidewalks at walking speed to their destination, where they will unload into a secure preinstalled container from which items can be retrieved at the owner’s convenience.
