NEW PRINGLES CONTEST COMES WITH A BIT OF MYSTERY
In an exclusive partnership with Walgreens, Pringles is releasing a mystery flavor chip and giving shoppers a chance to win $10,000 if they can correctly guess the flavor. The mystery chips will be available until the end of July, and contest entries can be received until mid-August. While Pringles has run similar contests in other countries, this is the first time the brand has tempted U.S. fans’ taste buds and wallets with a mystery flavor contest.
ADIDAS CREATES A HYPER-RECYCLABLE SHOE
Adidas Futurecraft Loop running shoe is one of the first consumer products designed for a circular lifecycle. When runners have worn out their shoes, they return them to Adidas, who will recycle them into another pair of shoes. Current technology does not allow for a one-old-shoe-to-one-new-shoe ratio, but Adidas has that goal in mind. The brand will run a small beta test of the shoes later this year before a full rollout in 2021. They are still working through how to price, collect and repurpose the shoes from users.
TAMPA BAY ADDS STREAMING NEWS TO NEWSPAPER RACKS
The Tampa Bay Timesis bringing video content to print distribution racks. More than 50 select retail locations, such as C-stores and gas stations, will receive new news racks outfitted with 24-inch digital screens. The screens will run seven-minuteloops of information, which can be interrupted for breaking news, and will also include weather updates and quizzes to keep shoppers occupied.
