COORS LIGHT CAMPAIGNS TO INDUCT POTENTIAL HALL-OF-FAMER

Tom “The Iceman” Flores, the first Latino to hold positions in the NFL as both a quarterback and a head coach, still hasn’t made it into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. So Coors Light is seeking fans’ support to help get him inducted. Through limited-edition cans that display a photo of The Iceman, TV spots, mobile billboards and beer rebates, Coors Light is putting a lot of energy behind the recognition effort. This comes as holiday campaigns are ending and Super Bowl campaigns are ramping up. It doesn’t hurt that Flores is a “noted Coors Light drinker.”

GROCERY PICKUP GOT A WHOLE LOT EASIER AT ALBERTSONS

Albertsons is introducing an automated curbside pickup kiosk at one of its Jewel-Osco locations in Chicago. Grocery orders are robotically moved inside the kiosk to the front for pickup. This is part of a larger automation movement for Albertsons, who increased its micro-fulfillment centers last year. There are plans to install a second kiosk in San Francisco sometime soon. WALMART LAUNCHES TECH-DRIVEN FINANCE START-UP

Already known for saving customers money when they shop, Walmart now wants to help more in the financial space, so the retailer is taking its retail knowledge and partnering with a fintech investment firm “to deliver tech-driven financial experiences to Walmart customers and employees.” Breaking into new categories is nothing new to Walmart, who launched Walmart Health at the end of 2019. Just another way to help customers “Save money” and “Live better.”
