7-ELEVEN GIVES GAMERS WHAT THEY CRAVE
7-Eleven launched a sweepstakes in January called “Get What You Crave” to award PlayStation 5 consoles and accessories, prize packs, candy and more. Part of this promotion involves giving gamers an opportunity to stay overnight at the 7-Eleven Evolution store in Dallas County, Texas. While this gaming promotion will be over at the end of February, the Evolution stores will be here to stay, offering shoppers the latest 7-Eleven innovations in an experiential store format.
DOLLAR GENERAL JOINS INITIATIVE TO EXPLORE PLASTIC ALTERNATIVES
As part of a plastic waste-reducing initiative, Dollar General has joined “Beyond the Bag” to find a more sustainable bag option. This initiative launched last summer to help make plastic bags obsolete. Albertsons has also joined the effort, along with Walmart, Target, CVS Health and other grocery partners. With all of these big-name stores working in concert, the reduction of single-use plastic bags is likely in our near future.
WALMART HELPS SUPPLIERS CREATE MORE EFFICIENT ADS
Large and small brands alike are getting an upgrade in ad creation on Walmart’s omnichannel media platform. This ad automation will reduce the time needed for an ad to be approved and then go live on Walmart digital channels. The upgrade comes with a name change as well, from Walmart Media Group to Walmart Connect. Look for this technology to be available in late 2021.
