Domino’s to roll out a 2-minute guarantee
Car-side delivery is getting a boost at Domino’s. When a customer checks in from their phone, their pizza is guaranteed to be delivered to their car within 2 minutes of being ready—or their next pizza will be free. The pizza chain has also partnered with DraftKings to launch the Domino’s Carside Delivery 2-Minute Guarantee Over/Under Challenge, which allows customers to bet on whether the national average of 2-minute deliveries will be over or under 80% “for the chance to win a share of $200,000.”
Walmart to use AI for managing out-of-stocks
Walmart has turned to artificial intelligence to help manage out-of-stock replacements for click-and-collect orders. With the shift in shopper behavior leading to more online orders, Walmart has begun using AI to predict which products will best replace the out-of-stock items a customer has ordered and will also be most likely to leave shoppers satisfied with their experience. The deep learning algorithm takes into account factors like size, brand, price, current inventory, and more.
Xfinity retail to make the shopper the star
Xfinity is leveraging content from its NBCUniversal properties to create a unique AR experience across 472 of its retail locations. By scanning a QR code and standing in front of an in-store green screen, the store’s 2D posters come to life, surrounding shoppers with fighter jets, touchdowns, and even characters from The Office. The experience, which runs through July 8, aims to show retail customers all the ways they can interact with Xfinity content and services.
