Mtn Dew and Cheetos team up for Flamin’ Hot beverage
Beginning August 31, fans of Mtn Dew and Cheetos can purchase the spicy-sweet collaboration—marketed simply as Mtn Dew Flamin’ Hot—on the Dew Store while supplies last. To promote their latest concoction, the brands are also launching a streetwear collection with apparel brand Broken Promises and partnering with a pair of grandma influencers on Instagram and TikTok.
The pumpkin spice has come early this year
By this point, the PSL (Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte) is practically synonymous with autumn in North America. And while the leaves haven’t quite started turning yet, Starbucks has already launched the signature beverage (and a few other pumpkin-flavored items) across stores in the United States and Canada. To promote the launch, the brand released the Pumpkin Love O’ Meter, a personality quiz that tells users just how big a pumpkin lover they are.
TikTok pilots in-app shopping
Social media behemoth TikTok has partnered with e-commerce platform Shopify to bring in-app shopping to the app’s TikTok For Business users. The TikTok Shopping pilot is open to merchants with a Shopify account and adds a tab to their profile containing a customized miniature storefront. With social commerce sales rapidly growing, TikTok aims to stake its piece of the pie alongside rivals like Facebook and Instagram with established social commerce platforms.
