Gap adds 3D fitting room tech
Gap recently announced that it has acquired Drapr, a “startup that uses 3D virtual try-on technology.” The clothing retailer has plans for utilizing Drapr’s technology to expand its growth in the digital space and give customers an improved fitting experience. WIth the boom in e-commerce sales in 2020, online returns nearly doubled, so Gap hopes this technology will reduce returns and help to decrease the cost and environmental impact associated with them.
7-Eleven launches “Superfan Influencer” team
As football season gears up, 7-Eleven is running a social contest to draft three aspiring influencers for its roster of football influencers. The #FuelYourFandomContest runs through October 15 and will connect winners with quarterback Dak Prescott, wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster, and sportscaster Erin Andrews as they encourage followers to pick up their game-day staples at 7-Eleven this season.”
Slinky joins social media
The 75-year-old toy brand Slinky has made its social media debut and is seeking a refreshed marketing jingle. The campaign combines influencer marketing and organic word-of-mouth across both Instagram and TikTok as the brand splices archival ads with modern footage of the toys currently in use. The brand directs viewers to its SoundCloud page, where they can download assets to remix the classic jingle and share their creation online with #SlinkyRemix.”
