Wilson opens first store
Iconic sporting goods brand Wilson recently opened the first brick-and-mortar store in the company’s 108-year history. Located in Wilson’s home city of Chicago, the store features a selection of sporting goods and apparel from the brand and is decorated with photos and memorabilia of Wilson athletes through the years. With a second location already open in New York, additional stores are planned for Los Angeles as well as Shanghai and Beijing.
Gopuff plans digital-first store
Consumer-goods and food delivery service Gopuff has plans to open a retail location in San Francisco. Shoppers will be able to use kiosks to browse stock and place orders, while workers will pick out the orders from a storage area then take the purchases to customers. In a dual-purpose use of the space, Gopuff will also use the same product storage area to fulfill delivery orders. The San Francisco location is the first in the brand’s plans to open additional retail stores.
PepsiCo uses data to boost sales
PepsiCo has recently launched pepviz, which offers retailers advanced data and insights to boost loyalty, gain new shoppers, and drive sales growth. In addition to insights into shopper behavior and local trends, pepviz helps retailers maximize shelf space and stock the right product mix for shoppers in their area. Pepviz is already “being used by a handful of customers,” and PepsiCo hopes that “retailers’ desire to save time and money” will propel further growth of the platform.
