Instacart adds shoppable brand pages
Grocery delivery service Instacart has rolled out new advertising functionality for brands. With this latest push, Instacart aims to give advertisers the ability to connect with shoppers throughout the entire marketing funnel. The CPG brand pages work like storefronts that allow shoppers to “buy products from their most recently shopped retailer.” Breyers, Kidfresh, Ben & Jerry’s, and Klondike are some of the initial brands to take advantage of the new offering.
Michelin adds tire safety tips to The Sims
Michelin is targeting teens with new tire safety messaging in The Sims FreePlay video game for cell phones. In-game billboards include tire safety tips, and gamers will be able to earn in-game currency and game-related merchandise, as well as a free Michelin-branded tire pressure gauge (via mail) by visiting the campaign’s microsite. Michelin says it will reach 400,000 teenage drivers per day with the campaign.
Walmart shows off interactive store design
Last year, Walmart began a store redesign project, with the first phase focused on navigation and wayfinding. The second phase, “Time Well Spent,” focuses on establishing Walmart as a destination for shoppers. Its incubator store in Springdale, Arkansas, has unveiled this new phase with additions like elevated brand shops, displays in department corners that allow customers to touch and feel products, more space due to optimized assortments, and digital touchpoints that let shoppers see more options online or sign up for Walmart services.
