Grubhub introduces Grubhub Goods

Delivery aggregator Grubhub has partnered with 7-Eleven to roll out a new online convenience store. Shoppers will be able to order drinks, food, ice cream, personal care products, and more from 7-Eleven’s inventory. Previously, a Grubhub-owned Grubhub Goods location existed only in Brooklyn. This new offering expands to 3,000 7-Eleven locations and will reach the majority of Grubhub’s customers nationwide.

Grocers continue to test shoppable video

After kicking off Zoom cooking classes as a replacement for in-store demos during COVID lockdowns, Texas grocery chain H-E-B pivoted to shoppable livestreams on Facebook. Meanwhile, Albertsons has seen success hosting shorter shoppable videos on its brands’ websites. Both grocery chains have seen increased shopper engagement and product discovery, and Albertsons reported a 9% increase in digital sales during the third quarter of 2021.

Walgreens adds to EV charging network

Walgreens initially helped to launch the country’s first privately funded electric vehicle charging network in 2011; now the retailer has partnered with Volta to add DC fast-charging stalls to more than 500 of its US locations. The stations will feature large-format screens for “digital out-of-home advertising,” and Walgreens Advertising Group plans to leverage them to help brands maximize sales using the retailer’s first-party data.
