Klarna offers gas now, pay later

Buy-now-pay-later company Klarna is offering customers the chance to get gas at Chevron and Texaco stations and pay for it over six weeks. Klarna worked with Chevron to create a payment plan that is entirely interest-free as long as payments are made on time. With gas prices hitting record highs amid other financial strains on consumers, this could help ease drivers’ stress at the pump.

Bristol Farms opens new grocery concept

Upscale grocer Bristol Farms has opened Bristol Farms Newfound Market, a grocery store “complete with a food hall,” in Irvine, California. At 34,000 square feet, the new location has lots to offer: local and international products, ready-to-eat meals, housewares, a wine department, and more. The food hall inside the new market features “seven of its own chef-created” fast-casual restaurant brands.

Hyundai adds solar roof panels

Hyundai has added solar panels to the roof of its new hybrid Sonata. At full efficiency, the panels increase range by 3 to 4 miles per day while sitting out in the sun. Although that doesn’t sound like much in isolation, Hyundai claims that charging this way for 5.8 hours a day will add more than 800 miles of range per year. If the average car owner drives 10,000 miles a year, that number represents an 8% efficiency increase.
